Organic Baby Shopping Tips

February 3, 2010

I am constantly looking for tips to share with my readers about how to shop organic on a budget.  Since we can’t always buy organic it is good to know what ingredients to avoid in non-organic brands.  For example mineral oil, which is often found in baby oil can be harmful to your baby’s skin.  Mineral oil prevents your baby’s skin from absorbing natural moisture and could dry out their skin.  Another harmful ingredient to look out for is lanolin which can most often be found in diaper creams and moisturizers.  This chemical contains pesticides which can cause your baby to have an allergic reaction.  But given all the ingredients you have to look out for, it’s always best to buy organic when your budget allows.

Organic Baby Gifts

February 2, 2010

Have you heard of Kaboodle?  I stumbled across this site recently and was quite impressed.  It is a shopping community where people can post new products, compare prices and product feedback.  I came across this site because I was looking for some organic baby gifts and it just so happened that one user from Kaboodle posted a list of organic baby shower gifts.  I was even able to click on a product directly from her list and go to the site to purchase it.  If you’re looking for organic baby gifts I recommend you check out this user’s list of products.  You might find just what you were looking for.

Daily Organic Baby Sale

February 1, 2010

Everyone loves a great sale and I have stumbled across an amazing deal.  Green Baby Bargains has one organic baby item on sale every day that could save you up to 50% off the retail price.  This gives consumers a chance to go organic for a discounted price but it also brings attention to brands that otherwise might not have been recognized.  There are so many up and coming organic companies that it is important to get their name out there in a unique and memorable way.  Few can turn down a good sale, especially when it comes to baby items as they are already on the expensive side, organic or not.  Check out today’s specials.

New Organic Baby Product

January 29, 2010

Nourish is a fairly new product for the mom on the go.  It is a water bottle specially designed for babies and toddlers.  Unlike the water bottles you typically find at the grocery stores, Nourish is made to fit your baby’s small hands and comes with a special mouth piece for easy drinking.  First question that came to mind for me was the plastic bottle.  But not to worry, the Nourish container is 100% BPA free.  Another perk is the measuring lines directly on the bottles.  Every mom has been or will encounter a situation where they need to mix formula but dont have access to filtered water.  With these measuring lines you can easily measure the water level and the wide bottle mouth allows you to easily pour in the formula and presto, you have breakfast, lunch or dinner in a flash.  Check out the Nourish website for more information and benefits.

Came across this interesting article about how the organic dairy farm regulations are being watered down to allow factory farms into the industry. This is bad news for the family run organic dairy farms that built the organic industry to what it is today. With the increased number of organic farmers the profit has decreased to the point where the family run farms are just barely getting by. Not only does this have an affect on farmers, but since some of the organic dairy regulations are being watered down it is affecting the quality of the end product. Check out this article for more information and find out what you can do to protect the quality of organic dairy products.
