Choosing Organic Baby Wear

January 19, 2010

Newborns are extremely sensitive an vulnerable as they have not yet developed an immune system.  Sometimes it doesn’t cross our mind how many harmful chemicals there are in the everyday products we buy.  Which is why organic products are steadily increasing in popularity.  With organic products there is no question about safety.  When choosing baby wear it’s ideal to purchase organic clothing for a few reasons….

  • Often times babies get rashes due to irritation.  What parents sometimes don’t realize is that this can be caused by harmful chemicals in non-organic fabrics.  Organic fabrics are not processed with chemicals and therefore will not irritate your baby’s skin.
  • Some children have an allergic reaction to the dye that is used in non-organic fabrics.  Organic baby wear is only dyed with all natural ingredients.
  • Organic fabrics are grown without the use of toxic pesticides.  Where as non-organic fabric are treated with pesticides that often contain carcinogens, which have been known to cause cancer.
